Today, UNICORN participates at the 3rd Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum “Research Commercialization & Innovative Start-ups”.
UNICORN projects partners meets in Athens today and tomorrow in order to make new advances in the development of this European initiative.
On the 24th of October, UNICORN will take part in an event in Cartagena (Spain) on the framework of SEC2U.
UNICORN cloud-computing software will ameliorate developers’ and entrepreneurs’ daily work.
How?
Here are some ideas shared by the project partners:
Software providers can focus on their core offerings and let Unicorn smartly handle elasticity, security and performance of their cloud services’, explains Sotiris Koussouris, from Suite5, one of the partners taking part in this project financed by the European Commission.
Besides, he states that this innovation will minimise operating expenses and maximise quality of service for their customers.
In addition to this, there are more good news for developers. Unicorn is empowering them to use high-level model-driven design tools to specify context-aware security and privacy solutions. This will enforce security and privacy policies in real time, according to Manos Papoutsakis, of FORTH, other partner from the UNICORN consortia.
In consequence, Papoutsakis underlines that ‘these tools will drastically reduce time-to-market for SMEs developing services for the global IT market, enabling them to rapidly design and build robust solutions that can be automatically deployed in multi-cloud infrastructures‘.
In line with these features, UNICORN allows developers to choose which parts of the application are deployed to which providers, and how all services are going to be orchestrated, as Diego Alonso – representative a from Cloud Incubator HUB– stresses.
What about security and data confidentiality? These are two of the biggest problems in software development. Alonso considers that compatibility with mainstream cloud providers and containerisation technologies will ease application deployment and scalability and will keep data secure.
To sum up, UNICORN will reduce costs of money and time for SMEs and startups when it comes to their cybersecurity and cloud computing management.
UNICORN will take part in an event in Cartagena (Spain) on the framework of SEC2U. This initiative gathers European universities in order to boost entrepreneurship and innovation across the academic community.
SEC2U goal is to showcase local universities, opportunities and support for businesses, success stories and cases of failure as a way of learning. Besides, it offers a networking time for participants.
Cloud Incubator HUB-one of the UNICORN partners-will present project innovations at this conference. It is a great opportunity for promoting UNICORN model for the improvement of cloud computing services for entrepreneurs, SMEs and startups.
Andrés Iborra, Director of the UNICORN partner Cloud Incubator HUB, together with the colleague Mr. Diego Alonso will participate in the event. Diego Alonso will also take a lead in moderating the panel discussions, and spreading news about the UNICORN.
When?
24/10/2017 – 17:00-20:0o
Where?
Cloud Computing has reached virtually all areas of society and its impact on service development, production, provision and consumption is manifold and far-reaching. Inevitably, as recent studies and our Stakeholder and Requirement Analysis study of 20 personalized interviews with potential stakeholders suggest, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Startups tend to embrace cloud computing to run parts of their application
UNICORN project has obtained a very positive feedback at the presentation held in Karlsruhe during the Collaborative European Research Conference (CERC) last week.
On the 20th of September, UNICORN will be presented in Amsterdam, in the CloudWATCH Summit!
UNICORN keeps spreading the word on how to make cloud computing software easier for SMEs and start-ups.
The CloudWATCH Summit will bring together stakeholders and decision makers across a range of organisations that look to understand the impact of cloud computing, shape policy within the digital single market and take away practical advice for their own organisations.
